On
Saturday, Landscaping Services, Inc. (LSI), Tom Anderson's company
demolished the old playground equipment at NALA. They removed the curb
from the circular play area, repaired damaged grout in the block wall,
cut the concrete decking to within 6 feet of the swing set, and cleaned
up the area. LSI provided the heavy equipment and LSI employees provided
the volunteer labor.
A Dumpster was provided by
Rafael Construction to haul away the debris.
Leticia Gardea, the
Executive Director of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate
Professionals, brought breakfast for the workers and came out with
Albert Delgado the incoming president of NVAHREP, our local chapter.
Tom Anderson and his wife
were also on site. Randy at Alpine Steel will weld the fence guards
hopefully this week. $1000.00 worth of playground toys was ordered and
we will need about $500 worth of new swings which, if not donated, will
be purchased. Hopefully we can get the playground opened this week. I'll
keep everyone updated.
